The idea of ÄNG is simple. ÄNG works with what’s right outside the door and refine it to its greatest potential. Many of the ingredients you will find in the dishes are freshly picked from nearby forests, meadows and fields every morning. Vegetables are grown right next to the restaurant and the lambs play around on the farm just next door.
Head chef Filip Gemzell leads the creative work at Restaurant ÄNG. Together with his team, Filip works closely with local producers, hunters, and fishermen to learn more about the local landscape.
Since 2021, ÄNG holds a star in the Michelin Guide, as well as the guide's green star for its meticulous work on sustainability. ÄNG is also KRAV-labelled with two stars – a Swedish label for organic food. In the 360° Eat Guide for sustainable restaurants, ÄNG holds two rings. The Nordic restaurant guide White Guides rates ÄNG as "Master class".
The beverage pairing consists of selected organic and artisanal beverages, where some are produced at Ästad Vinyard or by producers in the local area. The pairing also includes wines from Europe that match the cultivation criteria at Ästad, with a focus on sustainability. ÄNG also serves a non-alcoholic pairing, where all beverages have been produced at the restaurant.
